Small,
deliberately.

Latice Capital is a privately held investment manager. We are independent, employee-owned, and structured so that no single desk can outvote the evidence.

Built by people
who disliked the pitch.

The firm began in 2011 with four people, a shared server and a stubborn question: if markets are so efficient, why does so much published research fail to replicate after costs?

The answer, as far as we can tell, is that most of it is fitted to the past rather than grounded in a mechanism. That conclusion shaped everything since — how we hire, how we test, and what we refuse to sell.

We have stayed small on purpose. Growth in headcount is easy to mistake for progress, and every additional layer makes it harder for a good argument to reach the person who can act on it.

Four rules we do not trade away.

01

Evidence over authority

Seniority buys you a better argument, not a louder one. The most junior researcher can overturn a partner's model with a clean test.

02

Own the tools

We write our own research platform, data pipeline and execution stack. Depending on a vendor's black box is a risk we decline.

03

Patient capital only

Our investors are institutions and family offices with multi-year horizons. We do not manage money that needs a quarterly story.

04

Say the uncomfortable thing

Internally first, externally when it matters. A firm that cannot deliver bad news early tends to deliver it all at once.

Three groups,
one table.

Everyone sits within earshot of everyone else. That is a design decision, not a space constraint.

  • Research

Twenty-six researchers across equities, futures and macro. Organised in small pods with a shared data platform and no product quotas.

  • Engineering

Fifteen engineers responsible for the research environment, market data, backtesting and the order stack. They sit with researchers, not behind a ticket queue.

  • Operations & risk

Independent risk oversight, trade operations, compliance and finance. Risk reports to the partnership, not to the investment committee.
